Road Safety Renewal Works on Forest Road, Mendooran

Roadworks are underway to rebuild the road shoulders on a 1.5km section on Forest Road, Mendooran.

“Forest Road renewal work will address concerns raised by residents and travellers”, said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “Forest Road is a busy regional road connecting Coonabarabran to Dubbo via Mendooran and is frequently used by motorists who are anxious to avoid truck traffic on the Newell Highway.”

Cr Todd said “these works will restore and protect the travel lanes and improve road safety by increasing the width of the road. It is great to see this work underway on Forest Road.”

The Forest Road renewal works were made possible after Council received $169,000 in funding under the NSW Government’s Block Grant for regional roads.

“Council would like to thank the NSW Government for the funding allocated through the Block Grant to allow a regional road such as Forest Road to undergo maintenance and renewal works” concluded Cr Todd.
