Environment and Development Services oversees functions that contribute towards the planning and development of the Shire together with waste, sewer, water and tourism as follows;

Regulatory Service Management;

• Building Control
• Environmental Compliance Services
• Town Planning
• Compliance Services (Rangers)
• Warrumbungle Waste (as a business arm of Council)

Tourism and Economic Development Management;

• Visitor Information Centre
• Economic Development

Environment and Development Services Directorate also oversees the following:

• Heritage
• Noxious Weed Management
• Warrumbungle Water (as a business arm of Council)
• Warrumbungle Sewer (as a business arm of Council)
