Access to Information

Your right to access information held by Warrumbungle Shire Council is governed by the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA).  The GIPA Act began on 1 July 2010, replacing the Freedom of Information Act 1989 and Section 12 of the Local Government Act 1993. The GIPA Act can be found here.‚Äč

The GIPA Act creates rights to information that are designed to meet the community’s expectations of more open and transparent government. This means that information will generally be released unless there is an overriding public interest against disclosure.

This page provides information on how the community can access information from Council.
