New Opening Hours for Swimming across the shire

Preparations are being made for the commencement of the 2019-20 swimming season including new operating hours.

The Warrumbungle Shire Council operates six public swimming pools. These pools are set to open on Saturday, 5 October 2019 with new opening hours. Residents have the options of buying season, half season or casual entry tickets including options to pay full season tickets by instalments.

“The purpose of the new timetable is to allow greater public access to these valuable facilities by increasing the opening hours at all pools each day,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “Among the changes is the extension of closing times from 6:00pm to 7:00pm during summer months. It will be great to see the community making the most of these extended swimming hours.”

“The community has told Council that they would like to see the swimming pool opening hours increase. In response to this feedback, a new timetable was advertised throughout June and July 2019 and Council has now adopted the new timetable for the 2019/20 swimming pool season”, Cr Todd explained.

The introduction of the half season ticket for the 2019/20 swimming season, together with the option to pay for full season tickets by instalments, provides residents with choices on their use of the pools and to spread out the cost of season tickets.

Cr Todd said, “The half season ticket will provide more options for community members when deciding on how they would like to access the town pool. Some pool users may only be interested in using the town pool for the first or second half of the season and this new option caters for those people.

“The half season ticket still offers the same benefits as the full season ticket, including access to all six (6) town pools within Warrumbungle Shire,” said Cr Todd.

“Full season tickets may be paid in instalments by arrangement with Council. Half the season ticket price is payable up front, with residents then able to use the season ticket while paying the remaining cost in instalments by Friday, 20 December 2019.”

“There have also been changes to the supervision arrangements including increased hours during school times where there is no supervision of the pools” concluded Cr Todd.
