ArtSpace, Coonabarabran

Did you know that the Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre (VIC) has a great art gallery named ArtSpace?‚Äč

“Coonabarabran VIC is most commonly known for having the Diprotodon Skeleton (extinct giant wombat) exhibition but they also have an art gallery which displays art from around the region”, said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd. “New art exhibitions are held at ArtSpace throughout the year with the opportunity for art to also be purchased.”
Cr Todd explained, “The Coonabarabran Visitors Information Centre sees hundreds of visitors from all over the country stop and pop in each year for a look at what this region has to offer, so to place an exhibition in ArtSpace would be an amazing way for an artist to increase their exposure.”

“ArtSpace recently exhibited the inaugural ‘Capture the Cosmos’ photographic competition and exhibition, which attracted visitors from across New South Wales and interstate to the opening and awards night at the multifunctional gallery”, said Cr Todd.

“Throughout the year ArtSpace has seen many talented artists exhibit their art including, Alex Nixon, Libby Milson, Barb Scott, Rob Griffith, Anjee du Terreau, Shalayne Smith, Capture the Cosmos (night sky photographic exhibition) and Chris Kunco, whose art its currently on exhibition”, Cr Todd explained.

If you are an artist and would like increased exposure, contact Council’s Acting Manager Economic Development and Tourism on 02 6849 2000 or by email to info@warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au to discuss booking an exhibition.
