Online platform launches for lodgement of DAs

In keeping with the changing digital age a new improved way to lodge residential planning applications is now available through the NSW Online Planning Portal.

“Development applications can now be lodged through the NSW Planning Portal,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The portal is a great tool to assist both applicants and Council by improving application processing times, allowing people to track applications on their own devices and stay informed at every stage of the approval process.”

“The Planning Portal creates an efficient and streamlined planning process statewide,” Cr Doolan explained.

Residents across the Shire who are applying for either a Development Application or a Complying Development Application can now submit their applications online through the NSW Planning Portal, which is linked on Council’s website under the Planning and Development tab

“With these applications now going online there will be no need for any paper-based plans and applications to come directly to Council. All correspondence will be through the NSW Online Planning Portal. As our Shire is so familiar with paper-based development applications this will be a big change for everyone,” said Cr Doolan.

Council’s Environment and Development staff will still be booking and conducting pre-lodgment meetings and site inspections. These meetings are an opportunity to get some further information about online lodgement of development applications.

“Council is urging all residents, property owners and industry professionals to go onto the NSW Government Planning Portal website and become familiar with this new process prior to meeting with Development Staff,” concluded Cr Doolan.

To book a pre-lodgment meeting contact the Environment and Development Services Administration Officer by phone on (02) 6849 2000.
