Project Update - November 2021

Good progress has been made by the contractor, Maas Constructions, over the last month. Rain has been an issue, but the contractor has timed things well to work between rain events.  The work done includes:

1. Construction of the earthworks mound on which the new building is to be sited. Two photos of the mound being placed are shown.

2. After completion of the mound, sixty four pier holes 3.6m deep were drilled and filled with reinforcing steel and  concrete. These piers provide a strong foundation to support the new building . Two  photos of the pier construction are shown.

3. Installation of sewer pipes for the showers, toilets and other facilities.

4. Forming up and placement of the main floor concrete waffle slab. One photo of this is shown.

Once the slab is in place, work can commence on brickwork and the frame for the roof.
