Stage two of the works are now underway. The widening of Purlewaugh Road is in full swing with the contract works well under way. Construction will be in the area from west of the May McEvoy Bridge towards the intersection of River Road, over the next two months. A Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS) has been designed and approved to maintain safety of the workers and the travelling public. Traffic lights are in place where it is not possible to have two lanes operating safely. Traffic control, while causing some inconvenience to motorists allows work to be done as efficiently as possible without major delays.
