The new multipurpose recreational building at the Mullaley Recreation Ground is progressing well and starting to take shape.

“It’s exciting to see the progress with this major project,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Council Ambrose Doolan. “Injecting $215,000 into this project will boost the Mullaley community immensely.”

“Currently the under slab utilities and framework have been completed ready for the first concrete pour. Once this slab has been poured the project will start taking shape quickly,” said Cr Doolan.

The new multipurpose building will include toilets and shower facilities as well as a disabled toilet/shower and parents’ room. The new building will also have a food preparation and serving area and an office/storage room.

“This new building, once completed, will be utilised by the local fire brigade for training days and meetings, the local school for larger P & C fundraising events and to host inter-school sporting events, as well as all of the events which are regularly held at these grounds,” Cr Doolan explained.

Funding has been successfully obtained through the NSW Government Drought Stimulus Package for the construction of a new multipurpose building at Mullaley Recreation Ground. In-kind contributions have been committed by the community and will contribute to the success of this project.

“This project is being managed by Council with the help of the Mullaley Recreation Ground Volunteer committee, who has been a great support. The volunteers at Mullaley have put a lot of effort into seeing this project get off the ground and their tireless work is very much appreciated,” Cr Doolan concluded.
