The Coonabarabran Riverbank Revitalisation Project has enabled 200m of riverbank to be cleared of exotic woody and herbaceous weeds such as Willows, Poplars and Blackberry, which were competing with native species. The community have planted 1,700 local riparian plants and 5kg of native grass seed was distributed throughout the area. The project provides ongoing benefits to the local community, including improved river accessibility, beautification of the area and positive environmental impacts.
