Project Update - April 2023

Community consultation has begun, including meetings with 30 local stakeholder groups and river residents. The feedback received will be incorporated into the plans. Meetings are being held with the local indigenous community regarding the cultural heritage study component of the project.

Since the execution of the grant agreement, a River Rehabilitation Plan, Water Quality and Invertebrate Assessment, Habitat Survey and Hydrographic Survey have been completed. Local riparian plants have been grown for community planting days to be held in spring.

Council’s Projects team are designing an accessible river footpath and creek bridge, with construction to begin mid-year. Informative signage will be designed and installed along pathways near the river.
