Water Main Replacement project Dunedoo

The first of a two-stage project with the water main replacement project in Bolaro Street, Dunedoo, has been completed and works have moved on to the second stage.

“Council’s water reticulation team have been working hard to complete the first of a two-stage project aimed at replacing the old water main in Bolaro Street in Dunedoo,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The water main along Bolaro Street has been the focus of Council’s water mains replacement program in Dunedoo over the last few years, with a complete replacement of the existing main along Bolaro Street due to be completed in October 2023 with the completion of stage two of this project.”

This is an older section of water main having reached the end of its useful life, with the main being located in a high traffic area and having developed a number of leaks it was time to replace it before it became a major problem. The first stage of the project has seen the construction and replacement of 220 meters of water main between Merrygoen and Bandulla Street along Bolaro Street in Dunedoo. 

Stage two of the project will replace 250m of water main through the Bandulla Street intersection finishing at Caigan Street.

This project is a part of Council’s commitment to supply safe and secure water to customers across the local government area (LGA). Council is committed to investing $50,000/annum into the reticulation network to continuously upgrade the network for the community.

“Council’s water mains replacement program is targeted at replacing water mains that are exhibiting issues within the various reticulation networks across the LGA. These programs reduce leaks, improving the efficiency of Council’s water supply operations and improve the quality of reticulated water supplied to customers,” Cr Doolan concluded.
