Small Heritage Grants Round Two 2022

Applications for Small Heritage Grants to encourage and support owners of local heritage items across the Shire will open in August 2022.

“The Small Heritage Grant Program is a great opportunity allowing heritage items or buildings to receive funding to carry out much needed repairs and restorations, keeping our local heritage alive,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “This funding provides dollar for dollar funding to carry out repairs and restoration works on local heritage items and buildings.”

Council offers the Small Heritage Grants program in conjunction with the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage and Heritage NSW.

“The grant program has been operating throughout the Shire for the last 10 years and has helped many small heritage projects. Past projects that have been completed through the grant funding program include external and internal painting, repairs to roofing and gutters, repairs to internal walls and maintenance works to ensure heritage buildings are safe and meet today’s legislative requirements”, said Cr Doolan.

Grants will open 1 August 2022 and close 31 August 2022. Successful applicants will be notified early October 2022. Successful applicants will need to have the proposed works completed by 27 March 2023 for refunds to be processed.

“These grants are a great opportunity for people with heritage buildings to undertake repair works to ensure that the integrity of the heritage building remains and the heritage in our communities live on,” Cr Doolan concluded.

Application forms and guidelines are available from Council’s Offices and Council’s website. Applications will not be accepted on properties on which rates are unpaid.
