School Based Traineeships commencing in 2021

Looking to gain work experience and get paid while at school? Applications for School Based Traineeships are now open.

Warrumbungle Shire Council is currently seeking application from eligible students to undertake School Based Traineeships in Horticulture and Automotive Servicing Technology to commence in 2021.

“School Based Traineeships are a great opportunity for local students to gain on-the-job experience while completing their Higher School Certificate, said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “School Based Traineeships are one of the best ways to ensure local students have a successful transition from school to work or further study and each opportunity allows students to obtain a nationally accredited, industry recognised qualification.”

These Traineeships are open to students who are currently enrolled in a school within the Warrumbungle Shire Council area and will be commencing Year 11 in 2021.

“Students will be required to work on the job for between 100 and 130 days over the two-year period. They will be gaining skills and experience in the work place while earning money at the same time,” said Cr Doolan.

“Council is encouraging all eligible students across the Shire to apply for these great opportunities. Programs like the School Based Traineeships provide our local students with strong career opportunities.” said Cr Doolan.

Applications are to be submitted online only via Council’s Positions Vacant page on the Council website at www.warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au.

Applicants must provide a Letter of Support from their school with their application to be eligible to apply. It is also recommended that students upload a copy of their current resume.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, 29 November 2020 at 11:00pm. For more information on School Based Traineeships contact Council’s Senior Organisation Development Officer, Leigh Ernest on (02) 6849 2000.
