Our Local Service is Looking for Local Support Workers

Interested in working in and supporting our local communities? Warrumbungle Community Care is seeking casual support/respite workers to provide support to those in need.

“Warrumbungle Community Care provides valuable services to our local communities including providing support to the elderly and people with disabilities,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “Working in aged care, you will come to hear all kinds of stories, swap smiles and develop deep, emotionally fulfilling relationships with the people your care for.”

“Positions are now open for casual support/respite workers with Warrumbungle Community Care. If you are compassionate, caring and dedicated and would like to come on board and provide a rewarding service to our community members, then this is the position for you.”

“Warrumbungle Community Care casual support/respite workers provide support to the elderly and people with disabilities by assisting with daily activities and personal tasks, this can often include providing support with eating, showering, dressing and general cleaning, all the time remaining strictly confidential,” said Cr Doolan.

Australia’s population is ageing and the demand for adequate aged care has gone up in the last few years. The huge disparity between the demand and supply of Aged Care Workers is pushing for our elderly to stay at home for longer to receive in home care and support.

“Now is the right time to take advantage of the potential job opportunities and get qualified for an aged care career. The first step is to come and talk to Warrumbungle Shire Council’s arm of aged care services, Warrumbungle Community Care, who is looking for trained, or willing to obtain, a certificate in Aged Care through TAFE, to join their team of casual support/respite workers, who service and care for in-home clients,” Cr Doolan explained.

“Warrumbungle Community Care is looking for people right across the Shire, to help fulfil the demand, now and into the future,” Cr Doolan concluded.
