Making way for the new amenities building at Robertson Oval, Dunedoo

Onsite works have now commenced at Robertson Oval, Dunedoo, making way for the construction of a new amenities building.

“Progress is powering ahead with MAAS Construction contractors now onsite and commencing the demolition of the old amenities building at Robertson Oval,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The demolition will make way for the creation of a 1m high mound where the new amenities building will be constructed.”

“This process is exciting but, in some way nostalgic as it is the end of an era for the old Robertson Oval amenities building. A lot of dedication and commitment by the Dunedoo sporting community has gone into the old amenities building over the last 50 years,” said Cr Doolan.

“Over the years the old building has been modified, extended and renovated mostly through the efforts of the local sporting clubs. However, the building has reached the end of its life, as modern day now demands for a better facility. The new building will include male and female change rooms for both the home team and the away team,” Cr Doolan explained.

Funding for the project is being sourced from the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund as well as the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program, and Warrumbungle Shire Council.

“This new purpose-built facility is set to benefit the entire Dunedoo community and surrounding regions,” Cr Doolan concluded.

MAAS Constructions are expecting to complete construction of the new facility in time for the winter season of football in 2022.
