Following the launch of the Planning Portal Hub earlier this year there is greater accessibility and efficiency for those submitting development applications to Council. “In addition to submitting applications online residents are also encouraged to use Council’s new Planning Portal Hub in the Coolah and Coonabarabran Administration Offices,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “With the NSW Government opening up the online Planning Portal, Council wanted to assist the community with the new process and has introduced the Planning Portal Hub.” “With the planning processes going online now, Council saw the need to assist our community members with this process, allowing the planning portal to be more accessible and efficient for those wanting to develop within the Shire,” Cr Doolan explained. “Both the Coonabarabran and Coolah Administration Offices now feature dedicated computers for customers, enabling residents to conveniently upload their development documentation onto the planning portal. This initiative aims to accommodate individuals who may face challenges accessing the portal from home or require assistance from council staff.” The development of the Planning Portal was made possible through grant funding from the Department of Planning and Environment. The grant specifically supported Council in implementing various online services, including: • NSW Planning Portal Online Development Applications • Online Certificate Registration Service • Online Post Consent Certificate Service • Online CDS Service • Online Building Information Certificate (BIC) application service With the launch of the Planning Portal, residents now have access to a comprehensive range of digital planning services, mapping tools, and reporting tools. This digital platform offers a convenient alternative to traditional paper-based transactions, ensuring accessibility 24/7, unlike the limitations of business hours. “Council extends its gratitude to the NSW Government - Department of Planning and Environment for its invaluable financial assistance, which has played a pivotal role in bringing the NSW Planning Portal to fruition for the Warrumbungle Shire community,” Cr Doolan concluded. For more information or assistance with the Planning Portal, residents are encouraged to contact the Environment and Planning Department on (02) 6849 2000 or visit www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au
