Free Microchipping Days – Coolah and Binnaway

Are all your cats and dogs microchipped? If not, then owners are encouraged to make the most of upcoming free microchipping days.

“Towards the end of 2021 Council hosted free microchipping days in each town across the Shire,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “Unfortunately, due to wet weather the microchipping days were cancelled in Binnaway and Coolah, however, Council Compliance Officers are coming back.”

“The free microchipping days are a great way to promote responsible pet ownership and make sure animals can be identified if they go missing. If your animal is not microchipped and is lost, it can be very hard to reunite the owner and pet without this form of identification.”

These two microchipping days have now been scheduled for Saturday 26 March 2022, at the following times:

Binnaway from 9:00am till 10:00am
Leash free area (campground)

• Coolah from 11:00am till 12:00pm
Leash free area (cnr Charles and Binnia Streets)

“All cats and dogs should be microchipped when they are young,” said Cr Doolan.

“Council is encouraging any cat and dog owners, right across the Shire, whose pets have missed out on being microchipped to head to these free microchipping clinics,” Cr Doolan explained.
