Free Entry to Pools for 2023/24 Season

The swimming pool season is here and this year Council will be trialing free entry to all pools for the 2023-24 season during ‘casual entry’.  

“Both the Coolah and Coonabarabran swimming pools have now opened, Dunedoo pool will be opened shortly and Baradine, Binnaway and Mendooran pools are expected to open on Saturday 21 October,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “It is great news for residents and visitors that casual entry to pools will be free this year. This means that when a pool attendant is rostered on at the swimming pool, there is no charge for entry.”

“If community members would like to use the pools outside of these hours then a swimming pool season ticket must be purchased. Season ticket holders have unfettered access to pools from 6.00am until close (currently 6.00pm and then 7.00pm during the December/January School Holidays) seven days a week during the season and will gain access using an electronic pool pass. This year, as well as the full-season and half-season tickets of previous years there is an option to buy a four-week pass, giving residents and visitors all the benefits of a season ticket for any four-week period of their choice,” Cr Doolan explained. 

“For those without a swimming pool season ticket, free access to the swimming pools will only be available when pool attendants are on duty. Details on when a pool attendant will be rostered on at each pool will be made available on Council’s website and on Council’s Facebook page,” said Cr Doolan. “If you can’t access these, a call to our friendly Customer Service Team on (02) 6849 2000 would also provide that information.”

Schools and user groups are reminded that bookings are required if you want to hire the swimming pool. When making a booking it is essential to notify Council if you require the services of a pool attendant.

Dunedoo Swimming Pool is currently being drained, cleaned and re-filled to ensure that chemical levels are correct and the water is safe to swim in.
