Connect Five Children’s Services expands to Purlewaugh
The popular Connect Five Mobile Play Sessions program is expanding to include Purlewaugh starting on Friday 10 May 2024.
“We're thrilled to be expanding the Connect Five program to Purlewaugh,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The feedback from our childcare survey was clear – parents in Purlewaugh are eager for a fun and interactive program that supports their children's learning and development. We want to provide accessible services for families across the region, and the Connect Five program is a fantastic way to achieve that.”
Connect Five Children's Services provides play sessions (play groups) each school term in Baradine, Binnaway, Coolah, Coonabarabran, Dunedoo, Hollywood, Mendooran and Tooraweenah and is funded by the NSW Department of Education’s Start Strong Pathways program.
Commencing in Term 2, Connect Five will be providing their mobile play session at the Purlewaugh Hall every fortnight from Friday 10 May 2024 from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
Mobile Play Sessions cater for all children aged 0-6 years. These play sessions run for 3 hours by a team of qualified Educators who offer support to families with young children.
Educators provide an inclusive and welcoming space where children learn through play and extend their development in a safe and supportive environment. Some activities the children can engage in are story time, art and craft activities, group games, physical experiences like testing out their balance and skill levels on an obstacle course, music and movement, imaginative play, mathematics, building, engineering and more.
“This a wonderful service for our communities and it is exciting to see this service expanding and providing this great play environment for our younger generation,” Cr Doolan concluded.
