Community Financial Assistance Donations Now Open

The first round of Community Financial Assistance Donations for 2021/22 is now open for applications.

“Each year Council offers two rounds of Community Financial Assistance Donations to support local groups and organisations,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “Council is encouraging community groups to apply for up to $500 to put towards a project that promotes or supports people living in our region.”

“Over the last six years Council has donated almost $103,000 to 128 different community groups and organisations through the Community Financial Assistance Donations. Projects are diverse, and with a wide range of community groups among the recipients we’ve seen funding go towards all kinds of sports, the arts, school and pre-school programs, local shows, environmental projects, community events, local history, and groups supporting the community with services such as rescue, disabilities and mental health,” said Cr Doolan.

“The guidelines for Community Financial Assistance Donations were reviewed last month, which resulted in a new application form being developed. Applications will now be easier for community groups to put together and paying the donations will be quicker and simpler,” said Cr Doolan.
