Are you planning on carrying out building works within the Shire? If so, then contact Council’s Environment and Development Services to enquire about your planned development.

“For anyone planning to undertake any type building works it is important to be aware of the current rules and regulations and seek advice from Council’s planning staff,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “A failure to obtain development consent, or to comply with the terms and conditions of development consent is a very serious matter can cause untimely and costly delays, sometimes including fines and potential court action and costs.” 

“Regulations and systems are put in place for the benefit of the local community and the area as a whole. Council is committed to monitoring any unauthorised changes to Development Applications or illegal building works, and also acts on complaints received from the community in relation to illegal buildings being constructed,” said Cr Doolan. 

“Be careful of misinformation from social media. To best understand your circumstances contact Council staff to speak with planning professionals,” said Cr Doolan.

“Council’s Planning and Regulation staff are available for meetings and site visits to discuss the options for undertaking any building works. Please contact the Council office on (02) 6849 2000 to arrange a meeting,” concluded Cr Doolan.
