Appropriate behaviour at public swimming pools

With the increase in the usage of the public swimming pools across the Warrumbungle Shire there has been an increase in misbehavior incidents.

“This swimming season Council resolved to make entry to the public pools free whilst a pool attendant is on duty,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “It has been great to see that this has been well received by the community, especially as there has been an uptake in usage by the public, unfortunately with that increase in usage there has also been an increase in poor behaviour by some patrons.”

“Like usual, there is only a small number of people that want to spoil it for the majority.”

“It is already a difficult job for our pool attendants without some people making it even more difficult with bad behaviour,” said Cr Doolan.

“Poor behaviour at the pools is not to be accepted and Council has processes in place to deal with poor conduct. It could be a long summer for some of those that with to misbehave at the pools.”

“If patrons do see poor behaviour at the pools then I would urge them to report the conduct to the pool attendants.”

“I would urge all patrons to adhere to good conduct whilst at the public pools so that everyone can enjoy their time at the facilities,” concluded Cr Doolan.
