Swimming Pool Season 2020/21

Swimming pool season is here and there are some changes to the town pools to make for an enjoyable summer.

“Swimming pools are set to open in October 2020 and there have been a few changes made for this season to ensure all community members have the best experience at our public pools”, said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “Some of these changes include electronic swimming pool access keys and the half season ticket option.”

“Electronic access keys will be the biggest change this season and will improve the way individuals access the pools during ‘no lifeguard’ hours. It will also allow Council to monitor the times community members have accessed pools which will provide data for improved timetabling for future seasons,” explained Cr Doolan.

“Patrons will be able to obtain an electronic swipe card from the pool lifeguard on request when purchasing a season ticket. The first swipe card will be free, with additional or replacement cards at a cost of $20,” said Cr Doolan.

“A half season ticket option is available this year, allowing individuals and families to purchase a season ticket for either the first or second half of the swimming pool season. This will help to spread the cost of season tickets across the season or give people the option of using the pools more at the time of year they choose,” Cr Doolan explained.

The pools at Coolah, Coonabarabran and Dunedoo open for the season on 3 October 2020, with Baradine opening on 17 October 2020, and Binnaway and Mendooran opening on 31 October 2020.
