Warrumbungle Community Care

About Us

Warrumbungle Community Care (WCC) provides services for the frail aged, people with a disability and their carers, in the Warrumbungle Shire to remain living independently in their own homes.

WCC is an Approved Provider for Home Care Packages. 

WCC is auspiced by Warrumbungle Shire Council and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, Transport for NSW and NSW Health.

Community Care

 

Programs provided include:

  • Meals on Wheels – nutritionally based and delicious hot or frozen meals can be delivered to your home or collected from the office, depending where you live. These meals are delivered by our valuable volunteers who tirelessly give their time to our service.
  • Community Transport – provides a booked transport service
    • Volunteers drive service users in WCC vehicles to regional centres for medical and other appointments
    • WCC bus is wheel chair accessible and offers service users and general public the options of trips to major regional towns
    • Local transport in and around town is also available and provided by volunteers or staff
  • Social Support – activities available under this program may consist of:
    • Monthly luncheons (across the Shire)
    • WAGS group (Wednesday Activity Group) Coolah
    • Dunedoo Social Group
    • Telelink service provides a welfare check daily by volunteers
    • Local transport provided by volunteers
    • Monthly Social Bus Trips to approved venues
  • Home Maintenance – services include:
    • Lawn maintenance (safety not beautification)
    • Basic home maintenance (not requiring a licenced tradesman)
    • Wood delivery (northern end of Shire)
  • Respite for Carers - paid support workers provide in-home care, so that the carer can have a break from their caring responsibilities. There are also many benefits for the care recipient, including:
    • Socialisation
    • Independence
    • Stimulation
    • Time away from Carer
    • Exploring new opportunities
    • A choice in decision making
  • Home Care Packages (HCP) – WCC offer Home Care Packages which enable you to purchase products and services that assist you in living independently in your own home for as long as possible. We work with you and your carer to put together and manage your package to best meet your needs
    Our service includes:
    • Personal Care and Social Support
    • Transport and Personal Assistance
    • Domestic Assistance, such as cleaning and laundry
    • Nutrition, Hydration and Meal Preparation and diet
    • Medication Management (Websterpaks)
    • Personal Alarms
    • Dementia Support
    • Mobility, Dexterity
    • Continence Management
  • LGBTI and Culturally inclusive services – WCC provide LGBTI(lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and/or intersex) and culturally inclusive services and are committed to ensure these services are accessible to all people from all backgrounds

Volunteer with us

Our services are delivered by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Volunteers deliver meals, help out at social groups, assist people with shopping, talk to people on the phone and drive people to local and long distance appointments.
