Project Updates
Johns Crossing, Cumbil Road
Site works for construction of a new bridge over Baradine Creek on Cumbil Road are well underway. The works include demolition of the existing flood-damaged causeway, construction of a low level two-span bridge 24 metres long, bitumen sealed road approaches, scour protection to the embankments, and stabilisation of the creek banks. Demolition of existing causeway completed and concrete has been crushed for reuse in the road approaches. Vegetation has been cleared and construction of bridge piles is underway. The project is expected to be completed late 2026.

Coolah Accessible Toilet: A shower room within the Council owned amenity building in central Coolah is being modified to enable construction of an accessible toilet. Installation of wall and floor tiles is underway. The building project also includes construction of a new concrete ramp and dedicated disability car parking space.
The project is jointly funded by Council and the NSW Government through the Local Small Commitments Allocation program. The building works are expected to be completed late October.

Coonabarabran No. 2 Oval Building Amenities and Kitchen Refurbishment: These works will provide improved facilities that better serve local sporting groups and the general public while meeting contemporary standards of safety, function and accessibility. The scope includes refurbishment of kitchen, toilet and general amenity areas, together with upgrades to core building systems including electrical, hydraulic and safety infrastructure. This project is underway with the contractors onsite and work is estimated to be completed by the end of December 2026.
