PROJECTS
There’s plenty happening across our local parks, playgrounds and recreation spaces.
AGRN 1034 Natural Disaster Culvert Restoration Works
Cumbil Road (Johns Crossing): Bridge works construction is expected to commence in July 2026.
Burragundy Road: The tender for the design and construction has been advertised and is closing 9 June 2026.
Sandy Creek Road: Box culvert works commenced on 25 February 2026, with kerbs remaining to poured and scour rock placement still to be completed. Sandy Creek Road is expected to open for traffic on 30 June 2026.
Rotherwood Road: Box culvert construction commenced on 1 May 2026.The fish passage has been constructed with the base slab being poured this week. The project is targeted for completion by July 2026.
COMMUNITY PROJECTS
BARADINE
Baradine Oval Kiosk Awning Structure and Accessible Toilet: 95% complete. The final lock installation for the accessible toilet and final inspection for the Occupation Certificate are scheduled for next week.
Oxley Crossing Picnic Table: This project is complete with the covered picnic table and rubbish bin installed.
COOLAH
Bowen Oval New Amenities Building: With all internal services installations completed, the installation of toilet fittings and final finishes is in progress. Expected completion is within 2 weeks. The external footpath and parking works have also been completed.
School of Arts: Repairs to parapet wall above the roof and concrete ball project has commenced. Footpath travel maybe rerouted during the project.
COONABARABRAN
Coonabarabran Footpath Project: With the tree planting now completed, two seats along the footpath are being ordered for installation, which is the final element of the project.
Native Grove Cemetery Expansion: Irrigation works are scheduled for next week, while turf placement is expected to be completed by the first week of June.
GOOLHI
Goolhi Hall: Installation of the new water tank and plumbing have been completed. The minor kitchen renewal works will be completed by mid-June 2026.
MENDOORAN
Mechanics Hall Kitchen: Renewal is nearing completion. The air conditioning is being installed and staff are awaiting delivery of the new stainless steel refrigerator.
