Families across the Warrumbungle Shire can now express their interest in early education, play sessions, and Out of School Hours Care for 2026, with several Warrumbungle Children’s Services surveys now open.
These surveys will help Council plan services for the year ahead and ensure families have access to quality early learning and care options across the region.
Yuluwirri Kids – Early Education and Care
Families looking for Long Day Care and Preschool in Coonabarabran for 2026 are encouraged to complete the online survey to indicate which days and services they would like to apply for next year.

Following the survey, placement offers will be based on priority of access and availability of places. Offers will be emailed to families during Term 4, 2025.
Connect Five – Mobile Play Sessions and Occasional Care
Families with young children up to five years of age can now complete the Connect Five 2026 survey to register their interest in local venues and programs.

Connect Five Children’s Services offer mobile play sessions and a toy library across the Warrumbungle, Coonamble, Gilgandra, and Walgett Shires during school terms.
Sessions are run by qualified educators and held in community spaces such as preschools, schools, church halls, and local parks.
Coonabarabran Out of School Hours (OOSH) and Vacation Care
Applications are also open for Coonabarabran After School and Vacation Care in 2026.

The OOSH program caters for school-aged children (5–12 years) and provides fun, engaging, and educational experiences each afternoon and throughout the school holidays.
Activities include arts and crafts, cooking, science, sports, movies, and more.
