Volunteering with WSC

Council's representatives receiving NSW Volunteer of the Year Award 2024

In all great communities, volunteering is a crucial part of daily life. In Warrumbungle Shire, our volunteers give their time to help others, but they also gain from the experience, especially in building new friendships and learning new skills.

Whether it’s people donating their time to a local school or sporting club, engaging in unpaid employment or providing assistance to others, there are tremendous benefits to both the volunteer and to those being helped.

At WSC, we have multiple volunteering programs. These are designed to help other community members and make our region a better place. Our programs also present excellent opportunities for volunteers to gain new skills and be trained in new tasks. As they saying goes, it’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.

Warrumbungle Shire Council is proud to be an EEO employer and a Child Safe organisation.
