ROAD WORKS UPDATE ACROSS THE REGION

Crews are out this week improving and repairing several key routes. Please drive with care around work zones and allow extra travel time.

Heavy Patching

  • Baradine Road – Works are progressing towards Yearinan and are ongoing.

PROJECT UPDATES

There’s plenty happening across our local parks, playgrounds and recreation spaces.

Neible Road Causeway: Project completed.

BARADINE

Baradine Oval Kiosk Awning Structure and Accessible Toilet: Electrical connection and alarm completed for sewage pump out tank.

COOLAH

Bowen Oval Playground: Repairs to be completed shortly.

Bowen Oval New Amenities Building: Internal cladding and plumbing underway. The old white storage shed has been demolished.

McMasters Park Playground: The DA is being assessed. Procurement has commenced.

COONABARABRAN

Native Grove Cemetery: Construction underway with roadworks and forming for new concrete plinth.

DUNDEOO

Milling Park Playground: The DA is being assessed. Procurement has commenced.

Robertson Oval Recreation Upgrade: Community engagement has commenced and the drop-in session at Robertson Oval was held Thursday, 2 April 2026.

MENDOORAN

Mendooran Oval Amenities: Door locks have been replaced and toilet cistern repaired. Project completed.

Proposed Mendooran Skate Park: Proposal currently being assessed. The community engagement has commenced and the drop-in session was held Friday, 27 March 2026 at the Mendooran Mechanics Institute.

PROJECT UPDATES

Here's what's happening across our local parks, playgrounds and recreation spaces.

Baradine

Baradine Oval Kiosk Awning Structure and Accessible Toilet: Awning completed and accessible toilet 60% completed.  Awaiting S68 approval for toilet.

Coolah

Bowen Oval Playground: Still closed while repairs continue. New soft fall is being installed, with fence repairs and shaded seating to follow before reopening.

Bowen Oval Recreation and Amenities Upgrade: The project is in the final stage of community engagement underway. DA to be lodged soon, with procurement to follow. 

Bowen Oval New Amenities Building: Framing and roof installation have been completed.

Coolah Aerodrome: Fence repairs have commenced with the old fence being removed this week. The new fence will be installed once the materials have been received.

McMasters Park Playground: The second round of community consultation is scheduled for 25 February 2026.

Coonabarabran

Skate Park Shade Sails: The remaining sail was damaged beyond repair during recent storms. Two replacements have been ordered and will be installed once received.

No. 2 Oval Amenities and Kiosk Renewal: DA has been lodged and the Request for Tenders has been issued.

Native Grove Cemetery: Construction by Contractor of another row of burial plots is scheduled to commence 16 February.

Dunedoo

Milling Park Playground: The second round of community consultation is scheduled for 25 February 2026.

Robertson Oval Recreation Upgrade: Community engagement will be commencing shortly.

Mendooran

Mendooran Oval Amenities: Awaiting power connection to the site.

Neible Road Causeway: Concrete slab and precast box culvert units installed.  Project 60% completed.
