Weed Management

Castlereagh Macquarie County Council is the local government authority for weed management across the Walgett, Coonamble, Warren, Gilgandra and Warrumbungle local government areas.

Effective weed management helps protect our environment, agricultural industries, natural landscapes and local communities. Castlereagh Macquarie County Council manages priority weeds in accordance with the NSW Biosecurity Act 2015 and the NSW Biosecurity Framework.

Under the Biosecurity Act 2015, everyone has a legal responsibility to manage identified priority weeds on land they own or occupy.
