Council is seeking volunteers to join Section 355 Volunteer Hall Committees for:
- Baradine Memorial Hall
- Binnaway Memorial Hall
- Goolhi Hall
- Jubilee Hall Dunedoo
- Mendooran Mechanics Institute
- Purlewaugh Mechanics Institute
Section 355 Committees are groups of people volunteering their valuable time and service to manage Council facilities, improve natural areas (such as parks, reserves and waterways) and perform functions on behalf of Council. As such, these committees are a volunteer extension of Council.
Main tasks include:
- receiving and assessing applications to use the hall
- meeting hirers for pre and post inspections
- receipting payments and managing bonds
- managing finances
- minor maintenance may also be performed (e.g. changing a tap washer or a light globe) or reported to Council through Customer Service.
The medium to long term goal is to have hall management committees generating enough income to cover facility running costs and upgrades to equipment such as chairs, tables, kitchen appliances and so on.
The short-term goal is to increase community involvement in management of community facilities.
How to apply
Complete the Section 355 Committee Membership Nomination Form and submit the completed form using any of the methods below.
Submissions must be submitted by 4:30pm Friday, 7 November 2025.
