Warrumbungle Shire Council Adopts 2025/26 Operational Plan

Warrumbungle Shire Council has officially adopted its 2025/26 Operational Plan, following its endorsement at the Extra Ordinary Council Meeting held Thursday 5 June 2025. The meeting followed a 42-day exhibition period in which the plan was on public display and available for feedback from the Community.

The Operational Plan outlines Council’s key strategic priorities for the year ahead and provides a clear roadmap for supporting the needs of residents, businesses and communities across the Shire.

Warrumbungle Shire Mayor, Cr Kathryn Rindfleish, said ‘The plan reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to sustainable growth, community wellbeing and effective service delivery.’

‘This plan ensures that Council remains focused on the priorities that matter most to our Shire – from maintaining ageing infrastructure, to supporting the economic development, environmental management and enhancing the livability of our towns and villages,’ Cr Rindfleish said.

The 2025/26 Operational Plan is part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework (IP&R) and determines the actionable project outcomes for the financial year. Key initiatives for this years plan include;

Continued investment in maintaining local roads, bridges and drainage infrastructure
Delivery of community recreational facility upgrades
Support for local tourism projects
Commitment to environmental sustainability and waste management improvements
Ongoing provision of essential services including libraries, community care and childcare programs

Council thanks all community members who contributed feedback during the public exhibition period, helping to shape a plan that reflects local needs and aspirations.
