Warrumbungle Community Care is celebrating the contribution of long-serving volunteer driver Neville Wilkin, who was nominated in the Senior Volunteer category at the 2026 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards for the Orana Region.

The regional awards were held in Dubbo on 29 October 2026, with Warrumbungle Community Care Manager Ngaire Stevens and Supervisor Deanne Britton attending to support Neville and recognise his outstanding contribution to the community.

Neville has volunteered with Warrumbungle Community Care for more than 20 years, generously giving his time as a volunteer driver and helping support people across the community.

His nomination recognised the dedication, kindness and generosity he has shown throughout more than two decades of volunteering.

Warrumbungle Shire Mayor Kathryn Rindfleish also attended the awards, alongside Dubbo Mayor Josh Black and Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders, who took part in presenting the awards.

Warrumbungle Community Care Manager Ngaire Stevens said Neville's contribution over the years was greatly appreciated.

“Neville is a wonderful example of the difference volunteers can make in our communities,” Ms Stevens said.

“His commitment to helping others over more than 20 years is an incredible contribution, and we were very proud to be there to support him and celebrate his nomination.”

Warrumbungle Community Care thanks Neville for his many years of service and congratulates all nominees and award recipients at the 2026 Orana Region awards.

Council also extends its thanks to the many volunteers who generously give their time to support people and communities across the Warrumbungle Shire.
