Dunedoo Community Invited to Help Shape Independent Living Project

Council is inviting community members to attend upcoming drop-in community engagement sessions for the Dunedoo Independent Living Project Stage 1 Concept Masterplan.
The Dunedoo Independent Living Project will be located on the former Dunedoo Hospital site on Sullivan Street, Dunedoo.
The project aims to provide modern independent living accommodation in Dunedoo to support older residents and help people remain living within their local community.
The proposed Stage 1 works include:
- Construction of two-bedroom independent living units
- Construction of a turning lane off the Golden Highway (Sullivan Street) into the site
- Construction of a connecting footpath into the Dunedoo CBD
The community engagement sessions will provide an opportunity for residents to view the concept plans and provide feedback on key elements of the project, including site layout and unit composition.
Community members are invited to meet with Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor Councillor Kathryn Rindfleish, Council staff, representatives from EnergyCo, and architects NBRS to discuss the project and ask questions.
The drop-in sessions will be held at the Dunedoo Old Bank Building on Wednesday 20 May 2026:
- 9:00am to 11:00am
- 12:00pm to 2:00pm
The project has a construction budget of $6.6 million and is funded through a combination of State and Federal Government grants. NSW Public Works is undertaking the planning for the site alongside Warrumbungle Shire Council staff.
Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Kathryn Rindfleish, said community feedback will play an important role in shaping the project.
“This project is an important investment for Dunedoo and we encourage community members to come along, view the concept plans and provide feedback,” Cr Rindfleish said.
“Community input will help inform the next stage of the project.”
Community members unable to attend in person will also be able to view the concept plans and provide feedback online via Council’s Have Your Say page.
