The Coonabarabran Youth Drop-In program continues to go from strength to strength, with strong participation from local young people and expanded sessions planned for Term 3.

Since relaunching on 5 May 2026, the program has welcomed 27 individual young people, with an average of 12 participants attending each week. The strong response highlights the ongoing demand for a safe, welcoming and engaging space where young people can connect, have fun and build positive relationships.

Over recent weeks, participants have been working on entries for the Youth Drop-In logo design competition, helping create an identity for the growing program. Entries close on Tuesday 30 June, with voting to take place during the final session of the school term. Young people are encouraged to come along, enjoy a meal, cast their vote and join in the activities before the school holidays begin.

More sessions from Term 3

Following the success of the program, the Youth Drop-In will expand from Term 3 and operate twice each week.

Sessions will be held:

  • Tuesdays 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
  • Thursdays 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm

The program is held at the Sport & Recreation Centre, near the skate park, and offers a range of free activities including:

  • Basketball
  • Ping pong
  • Pool
  • Craft projects
  • Games and group activities

The expanded timetable will provide even more opportunities for local young people to connect, try new activities and enjoy a supportive environment after school.
