Bowen Oval Facilities Upgrade Project Tender Awarded

Council is very pleased to advise that the Tender has been awarded on the Coolah Bowen Oval Facilities Upgrade Project which is proudly funded by EnergyCo’s Community and Employment Benefit Program.

This exciting project is being undertaken to improve the quality, functionality, and compliance of existing sporting amenities and associated infrastructure within the precinct.

The project focuses on the refurbishment and modernisation of existing change room facilities and dressing sheds to provide durable, safe, and fit-for-purpose amenities that support both community and organised sporting use. The upgrade also includes improvements to safety within the adjacent playground through the installation of compliant fencing.

The scope of works agreed with the user groups of the Oval includes:

Facility Refurbishment Works:

• Refurbishment of four change rooms, Internal demolition and reconfiguration works
• Replacement and upgrade of shower facilities and removal of toilets within change rooms
• Plumbing, drainage, electrical and waterproofing upgrades
• Installation of new fixtures, fittings and finishes
• Accessibility and compliance improvements in accordance with relevant standards
• Construction of a new privacy wall external to Change Rooms 3 and 4 (including existing toilet areas)
• Installation of playground safety fencing
• Associated civil works, services upgrades, and site reinstatement
