Australia Day Long Weekend Closures

View Australia Day long weekend opening hours and service changes across the Warrumbungle Shire, including Council offices, pools, waste services, libraries and community services.

Council Administration Offices and Service NSW
Warrumbungle Shire Council Administration Offices, including Service NSW, will be closed for the Australia Day public holiday on Monday 26 January 2026. Offices will reopen at 8:30am on Tuesday 27 January 2026.

Swimming Pools
All swimming pools will be open free of charge on Australia Day, as per the swimming pool timetable on Council’s website.

Landfills and Transfer Stations
All landfills and transfer stations across the Shire will be closed on Australia Day, Monday 26 January 2026.

Domestic Waste and Recycling Collection
Kerbside collection of general domestic waste and recycling will be completed as scheduled. Please ensure your bins are placed out the night before.

Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre
The Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre will be open on Australia Day, Monday 26 January 2026.

Warrumbungle Community Care
Community Care offices in Coolah and Coonabarabran will be closed on Australia Day, Monday 26 January 2026. In-home services will continue as required.

Libraries
Opening hours for all branches of the Macquarie Regional Library can be found online at www.mrl.nsw.gov.au.

Children’s Services:
All Children’s Services will be closed on Australia Day, Monday 26 January 2026.
