Warrumbungle Bloomfest

Projection of painted flowers on a building in Coonabarabran

This spring, Dalgarno Street in Coonabarabran will burst into life as Warrumbungle Bloomfest 2025 transforms the town centre into a vibrant festival of colour, art, music, and community connection.

From 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Saturday 20 September, the street will become a lively hub of entertainment, creativity, and celebration, showcasing the beauty of the Warrumbungle region and the community that makes it unique.

As the sun sets, the night will light up with a spectacular projection light show, turning buildings and spaces into luminous canvases beneath the starry Warrumbungle skies.

Free, inclusive, and family-friendly, Bloomfest invites everyone to come together and celebrate the Warrumbungle Shire in full bloom.

Light and Art

As dusk falls, Dalgarno Street will light up with a spectacular projection show by Illuminart, transforming one of the town’s landmark buildings into a luminous canvas. Adding to the magic, SPACE will also feature artworks projected in their window, creating an extra splash of colour and creativity for festival-goers to enjoy under the Warrumbungle night sky.

This year’s light experience also celebrates local and community art. Don’t miss the incredible 3D chalk mural by Coonabarabran artist Zac Craig, created live on the street during the festival. Plus, join the Paint Today, Project Tonight workshop with Illuminart, where you can create your own artwork during the day and then see it come to life projected that night as part of the light show.

Lucky Street Prizes

Bloomfest isn’t just about food, music, and art, you could also walk away with something special. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, we’ll have a great collection of prizes and vouchers up for grabs as part of our Lucky Street Prizes.

Keep an eye on the program closer to the day, as we’ll be listing all the prizes and participating businesses once confirmed.

Why Bloomfest?

Bloomfest reflects the heart of Warrumbungle Shire, a place where nature, dark skies, creativity, and community come together.

The event is part of the NSW Government’s Vibrant Streets Package through the Open Streets Program, activating Dalgarno Street as a safe, walkable, and lively space for people to connect and celebrate.

By day, the region is alive with spring wildflowers across the Warrumbungles and the Pilliga. By night, the Dark Sky Park provides the perfect celestial backdrop for a celebration of art, light, and local culture.
