Warrumbungle Community Care is thrilled with the success of its Mudgee shopping and social bus trips, which continue to provide clients with opportunities to get out and about, catch up with friends and enjoy a relaxing day away.

The popular trips operate from Binnaway, Coonabarabran, Coolah, Mendooran and Dunedoo, giving clients the chance to visit Mudgee for shopping, social activities and a change of scenery.

The most recent trip saw passengers travel from Coonabarabran through Coolah and on to Mudgee for a day of shopping, exploring and socialising. The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive.

One passenger contacted Warrumbungle Community Care after the trip to say she had "the best day yesterday".

She explained how wonderful it was to enjoy a day out without the pressure of rushing between medical appointments, as she often does when travelling to Dubbo. Instead, she was able to browse the shops, enjoy the atmosphere and spend the day at her own pace.

Another passenger described the Mudgee bus trip as "the best invention out" and is already looking forward to the next outing. Her enthusiasm was contagious, with her husband disappointed he missed out and already booking a seat on the next trip.

While the trips provide convenient transport, they also deliver important social benefits. For many participants, the outings offer opportunities to maintain social connections, build confidence, enjoy new experiences and remain actively involved in their community.

Warrumbungle Community Care is committed to supporting people to live independently and stay connected through a range of transport and social support services across the region.
