In September, following community consultation with Jump the Stump Skate Park Committee the skate park lay out was revised. The skate park will be longer (increased from 25m to 33m) and bigger incorporating an additional area of 57 square metres. The original concept catered only for street skaters, whereas the amended concept design will cater for street and transition skaters as well as BMX and scooter riders.
Council’s contractor Oasis Skate Parks has completed the structural design of the skate park and programmed to commence site works in November 2021.
In the meantime, Council is continuing with site preparatory works with the assistance from Jump the Stump Committee who has removed the old shade shelter that was within the footprint of the skate park and also undertaken some service locations. A big thank you is extended to Jump the Stump Committee for their contribution.
