Coonabarabran Water Report

5 February 2019

On Friday, 1 February 2019, the water level at Timor Dam was 19.3% of dam capacity.

Average daily water consumption for the period to Friday, 1 February 2019, was 1.05Ml per day.
 
Water for the township of Coonabarabran continues to be sourced from nine (9) bores. The Castlereagh River is still not being used to provide water for the town supply.

The average daily consumption (Ml per day), by week, over the last seven (7) weeks is:

Residents are reminded that modified Level 5 water restrictions are in place. Current Level 5 restrictions allow the watering of gardens with buckets and watering cans for two (2) hours a day between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
 
Council urges residents to continue to be mindful of the amount of water they are using and to minimise water usage wherever possible.
 
Water patrols are being undertaken to ensure that residents are complying with the restrictions. Fines of  up to $220 for individuals may be applied and water restriction devices installed should members of the public be found to be breaching the water restrictions.

31 January 2019 

On Friday, 25 January 2019, the water level at Timor Dam was 19.5% of dam capacity.

Minor inflows were recorded at the dam during the week preceding Friday, 25 January 2019. 

Average daily water consumption for the period to Friday, 25 January 2019, was 0.98Ml per day.

Consumption has reduced by around 190Kl per day when compared with the previous week.

Council is urging residents to continue to be mindful of the amount of water they are using and to minimise water usage wherever possible.

On Friday, 18 January 2019, the water level at Timor Dam was 19.4% of dam capacity.

Average daily water consumption for the period to Friday, 18 January 2019, was 1.17Ml per day. This is an increase of 130KL/d compared to last week’s reported consumption.

This is a significant increase in consumption when compared with the the preceding week and a substantial increase on what consumption was in December 2018.

Council is urging residents to continue to be mindful of the amount of water they are using and to minimise water usage.

Water for the township of Coonabarabran is now being sourced from nine (9) bores. The Castlereagh River is not currently being used to provide water for the town supply.

On Friday, 11 January 2019, the water level at Timor Dam was 19.7% of dam capacity.

Average daily water consumption for the period to Friday, 11 January 2019, was 1.04Ml per day.

While this is lightly less than consumption in the preceding week it is still a significant increase on what consumption was in December 2018.

Current usage levels are still above the target of 160L per person per day for Level 5 restrictions.

Council is urging residents to continue to be mindful of the amount of water they are using and to minimise water usage at this time.

Water for the township of Coonabarabran continues to be sourced from nine (9) bores and the Castlereagh River with a smaller pump in use at the well at the river.
