Working with Liquid Trade Waste Legislation

Liquid Trade Waste

Liquid trade waste is all discharge into the Council’s sewage system other than normal domestic sewage.  This includes liquid waste from cafes, restaurants, bakeries, hotels and motels, service stations, industrial businesses, supermarkets, schools and hospitals.

Council operates sewage systems in Baradine, Coolah, Coonabarabran and Dunedoo.

Businesses that discharge liquid trade waste are inspected annually.  Managing Liquid Trade Waste with best practice guidelines ensures waste management complies with legislation, is efficient and environmentally friendly.

Business property owners who are categorised as dischargers of liquid trade waste will receive the regular Water Rates Notice detailing the Liquid Trade Waste fee relating to their respective discharge into the Warrumbungle Sewer system.  The Notice may also include a non-compliance charge.
