The concrete works for the skate park was completed in December 2021 in accordance with the agreed design plan. The landscaping works under contract was completed on the 12 January 2022. Council is currently designing the kerb and gutter outside the perimeter of the skate park to ensure the stormwater from the road is contained and channelled towards the drainage pit near the school.
The skate park is operational now and training was held for skate boarders on Sunday, 23 January 2022. There is a planned soft opening for this facility on Australia Day.
Council appreciates the patience shown by the skate boarders waiting for the facility to become operational. Council advises the public and skate boarders to be cautious and take extra care as there is more work to be done outside the skate park to complete the works in its entirety.
