The Dunedoo Transfer Station opening hours have now increased allowing more opportunity for community members to dispose of household waste and recycling.

“After the community were asked to have their say the proposed changes to the opening hours for the Dunedoo Transfer Station have been introduced,” said Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Ambrose Doolan. “The Dunedoo Transfer Station will now be open for three (3) days per week for a total of 18 hours, instead of 17.5 hours.”

From Monday 14 March 2022, the new hours for the Dunedoo Transfer Station are as follows:

• Open for 8 Hours on Sunday from 8:00am– 4:30pm

• Open for 2 Hours on Tuesday from 2.30pm – 4:30pm
• Open for 8 Hours on Thursday from 8:00am – 4:30pm
(closed for a half an hour lunch break)

“The consolidation of the hours will assist will bring the Dunedoo Transfer Station in line with other transfer stations across the LGA, with similar services and opening days which will assist with staffing of the facility,” Cr Doolan explained.

“The review of hours was prompted by a number of factors, including the sorting of recycling being consolidated to the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at Coonabarabran in 2017, and specific tasks no longer undertaken at the Dunedoo Waste Transfer Station,” Cr Doolan explained.

“The Dunedoo Transfer Station now provides a Container Deposit Scheme collection point that is accessed regularly by the community and surrounding areas, which was also considered in reviewing the opening hours,” Cr Doolan concluded.
