Coonabarabran Water Update - 10 July 2018

On Monday, 2 July 2018, the water level at Timor Dam was 22.8% of dam capacity. This is a 1% increase on the previous week. This small increase is due to a rain event in Coonabarabran from Wednesday, 28 June 2018 – Friday, 30 June 2018. The small amount of rainfall resulted in a slight increase in dam level.

Water continues to be sourced from four (4) existing bores and the Castlereagh River at the Namoi Street weir. In addition to this water is now being sourced from the new bore at the Water Treatment Plant which came online last week. This bore is producing 4.4 litres of water per second and currently contributes about 30% of the raw water inflow. Council is hopeful of being able to sustain this level of production from this new bore which will relieve the pressure on the current water supply sources.

Average daily water consumption for the period to Friday, 6 July 2018, was 0.53Ml per day. The average daily consumption (Ml per day), by week, for the last six (6) weeks is:
