Community Financial Assistance Donations announced

Thirty community groups from across Warrumbungle Shire will share in almost $15,000 worth of funding as part of Round One of Council’s Community Financial Assistance Donations.

Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Denis Todd, said, “twice a year Council calls for applications for Community Financial Assistance Donations”.

“Council’s Community Financial Assistance Donations Council’s aim to provide support for community based projects and activities in Warrumbungle Shire. Community Groups and organisations are encouraged to apply for funding to support activities which promote and support people living in the towns and villages in Warrumbungle Shire”, Cr Todd said.

“Late last year we called for applications and received 30 applications from towns and villages across the Shire. Council considered the applications and decided to fund all the applications received in this round”.

Cr Todd said, “this year the Community Groups were presented with an acknowledgement of their successful funding application by a Councillor”.

“This is the first time we’ve done it this way and I think it is good to show people in the local communities who in their community is taking the time to put in for funding which will boost their community, as well as to let the community know that Council is investing in them and all our local communities”, said Cr Todd.

“In Round One of the Community Financial Assistance Donations funding will be provided to groups including Baradine P.A & H Association, Bullinda Bike Busters, Goolhi Reserve Committee, Jump the Stump from Coolah and Coonabarabran Cancer Support Group”, said Cr Todd.

“I would like to congratulate all the community groups that received funding in Round One and encourage other community groups to put in for funding under Round Two of the Community Financial Assistance Donations which will be announced soon”.

“I look forward to seeing all these projects and activities come to fruition and to hearing about the many benefits the support provided by Council brings to our local communities”, said Cr Todd.
