The Binnaway Town Hall stage upgrade is complete. The upgrade, completed under the Drought Communities Programme, provides the Binnaway community with a modern and versatile hall that will be enjoyed for many years to come.‚Äč

Warrumbungle Shire Council Mayor, Denis Todd said, “Council was successful in obtaining $50,000 worth of funding through the Drought Communities Programme – Extension to replace the old stage at the Binnaway Town Hall.”

“The replacement of the Town Hall stage was recognised as an employment and infrastructure project that will provide employment for people whose work opportunities have been impacted by drought, stimulate local community spending, use local resources, businesses and suppliers, and provide a long-lasting benefit to local community,” said Cr Todd.

“Recent work in the Binnaway Hall as part of this project has consisted of the removal of the current stage including the flooring, bearers, joists, timber piers and the wooden stair cases; installation of new steel piers; and installation of new cypress bearers and joists.”

Cr Todd explained, “The new flooring consists of treated green tongue flooring overlaid with cypress tongue and groove boards as well as two new compliant stair cases on either side of the stage to enable easy access to the dressing rooms behind the stage,”

“Council is extremely proud of the work which has been completed in the Binnaway Hall and believe that this project will benefit the local community as well as provide a boost in the community during these tough times”, said Cr Todd.

“I look forward to seeing the Binnaway Community utilise this newly renovated local asset for many community events and occasions in years to come”, concluded Cr Todd.
