Any person found consuming alcohol on any of the subject public roads or car parks within these areas is guilty of an offence and will be liable to confiscation of the alcohol and prosecution.

Companion Animals
Companion Animal Pounds Warrumbungle Shire Council operates two companion animal pounds within its boundaries, one located at Coonabarabran and the other at Coolah. Council's pounds are operated in a professional manner in accordance with RSPCA guidelines.

Council's Environmental Health Department works in collaboration with the Public Health Network which is a network of 16 Public Health Units, each with a dedicated environmental health section
Fireworks Displays
Councils are advised that ‘Guidelines for Council when Notification of a Fireworks Event is Received’ have been developed by WorkCover and the Local Government and Shires Associations to provide councils with a standard framework when deciding whether to object to WorkCover in regard to a firework display of which council has received a notification.
Food Shops
All new food premises are required to be registered by their local Council. Food which has not been prepared and handled in a hygienic manner presents a public risk of food poisoning from pathogens such as listeria, e-coli and salmonella, or other serious diseases such as Hepatitis A.
Hazard Reduction Burning
A permit from the Rural Fire Service (Local Brigade) is required to light a fire for Agricultural purpose during the Fire season. You cannot burn garden or any other rubbish in an incinerator in your backyard, on vacant land or on roads, without permission.

From 26 October 2007, the regulation of the use of buildings or temporary structures as a place of public entertainment (POPE) was transferred to the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act) from the Local Government Act 1993 (LG Act).
