The impacts of COVID-19 in re opening the Visitor Centre. The Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre is open to the public 9am to 5pm 7days but COVID19 restrictions are in place. Please follow social distancing rules and health guide lines implemented throughout the Visitor Centre for the safety of you and staff members. Alternatively, if you wish not to enter the building please contact the Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre by phone 1800 242 881 or email coonavic@warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au as the Visitor Centre staff are here to help with your enquiries.

Warrumbungle Region offers a place to relax in unspoilt beauty, where you can discover hidden treasures and unwind in peaceful country towns. Visit the lovely towns of COONABARABRAN, COOLAH, DUNEDOO, MENDOORAN, BARADINE and BINNAWAY and experience the magic of it all.

Bushwalk and camp amongst spectacular scenery in Warrumbungle National Park, discover giant grass trees in Coolah Tops National Park, and marvel at rare birds and wildlife in the Pilliga Forest.

Visit Australia's largest optical astronomy research facility, Siding Spring Observatory. Gaze through telescopes at our stunning starry night skies, admire mineral and fossil displays, watch artists at work and meet the friendly locals. 

Located in Central NSW, Warrumbungle Region is 5-6 hours drive from Sydney, half way between Melbourne and Brisbane, and within 2 hours drive of the regional cities of Dubbo and Tamworth.
