Coonabarabran Skate Park

Project Overview

The Coonabarabran Skate Park was opened in 2005 and is situated within the Coonabarabran Sporting Complex. The skate park is of concrete construction and consists of various ramps, jumps, and landings, and is predominately used by skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter riders.

Warrumbungle Shire Council received funding from the NSW Government through the Stronger Country Communities –Round Two funding. The objective of this project is to increase participation and facility utilisation by improving existing infrastructure.

This will be achieved by providing a shade sail over the existing skate park providing a more comfortable and sun smart facility for users during the warmer months. The facility will also be improved by replacing the existing table and seating and providing 2 x new shade shelters with tables and seating adjacent to the skate park.

Project Update

August 2019

The tables and seating shade covers, as well as the blue and yellow shade sails over the skate park have now been installed and are operational, which means the Coonabarabran Skate Park project is complete.

The project has delivered much needed shade for Coonabarabran Skate Park users, which will not only increase utilisation by current users but also encourage new users to take advantage of the Coonabarabran Skate Park facility.
